Well, most people who know me know that I'm
horribly bipolar. My moods swing intensely... today I have a reason for my
recent depressed streak. I have a reason for sleeping all day yesterday. I
have a reason for not eating, for not working on Wednesday's comic. It
might not be done; I'll put something fluffy up instead.
...literally.
So, why am I upset?
For the third time in three months, my car
broke down (yesterday) and is going into the shop today.
What is it this time? Something my stepfather calls a thermostat, a little
device in the radiator to circulate cold water. My car overheats in no
time when you start it up.
That part costs about $10, he says.
But if we were to fix everything wrong with my car, in addition to what
we've already paid to fix it, we've spent enough money to have put a down
payment and paid almost a years'-worth of monthly payments on a
barely-used '99 anything......
What's wrong with it that would cost that much? Well, we've had to have
the timing chain replaced. The engine had to be taken out to do that. The
brakes had to be replaced. The transmission just had to be replaced. Then
the fuel injector broke. Right now? It needs a new "thermostat,"
an oil change, a new windshield, new spark plugs, the driver's side door
is dented in six or seven places, the bumper is scraped and shoved
completely off-alignment, the driver's side door seal is messed up, the
seats and carpet and the cloth on the ceiling are all stained....

Giga Rants
Hey there, everybody. I'm back again, so let's see what's going down. I haven't gotten any actual questions, per se, but I'm sure someone wants to know, so I'm going to tell you guys who's influenced my style of writing.
A lot of places online have influenced me. I really like 8-Bit Theater, Bob and George, Penny Arcade, Twisted Kaiju Theater, and Zeek v2.0. Those guys all have really unique styles, and I'd like to think I'm a blend of all that. But the actual style of the comic I'd say lends itself to comparisons with MegaTokyo. It's storyline-driven, definitely unlike a lot of the gag-filled strips. I'd say I was being original, but to tell the truth, I don't know where the Hell I'm going with this thing, so your guess is as good as mine.
I hope everyone is enjoying the writing. It's coming very easily to me, which I think is great. I've got 8 scripts finished total, which means I've put so much work on Beru I doubt she'll ever catch me. Remember, feel free to send me email, I'd love to reply. Just to chat about anything.
If there's one thing I can't stand, it's a nasty smell. And my sister and mother have come back from the tanning salon and they reek of that tanning smell. I hate it! HATE HATE!! Oh well... That was my pitiful attempt at a rant. ::shrug:: Bleh.
Here's my last bit of knowledge to bestow on our readers. Always take da' money! You'd be an idiot not to.
